JEAN ELIZABETH BETTESS 1927-2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Bettess (Kuffner), mother and grandmother. Born in Cooks Creek, Manitoba, she moved to the big city when she was 16 and worked as a seamstress for many years. She met her husband and they were married for 46 years. Jean was pre-deceased by her parents, Victor and Sofie Kuffner; husband, Herb Bettess; brother Joe Kuffner and sister Verna Osiowy. Jean loved to bake all the time; Jean's pumpkin pie will be missed by all. Crocheting was another passion for her, as all nieces and nephews can attest. They were recipients of baby blankets, as well as anyone else who she knew was having a baby. Jean will be greatly missed by daughter Darlene and son-in-law Joe Collerone; granddaughters Jennifer (Adam Krieger) and Stacey; as well as special friends, Meeko and Pepper. Jean leaves one surviving sibling, Adele Onsowich, and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her friends as well. The family wishes to thank good friends Pat and Donna for their help, as well as the staff at the Emergency Department at Seven Oaks Hospital for their help and kindness. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, Jean's wish was to have donations made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715
