ALICE MARGARET STOCKS Alice Stocks passed away suddenly on Monday, October 31, 2011, in her home at the Seine River Retirement Residence in Winnipeg. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Wilma Horn; nephew, Ken Horn (Joyce); and niece, Sheila Mamchuk (Victor). She is also survived by her great-niece and great-nephew, Tara and Kyle Mamchuk. Alice was born August 8, 1920, at Myrtle, Manitoba. She resided on the family farm until 1985, at which time she moved to Morden along with her brother, Richard. Richard predeceased her in 1994. Alice was an avid gardener and took much pride in her yard and flowers. She also enjoyed attending church, and it was through the generosity of many of her friends that she was able to do so. Alice had wonderful neighbours, who came to her rescue on many occasions. Along with the assistance of these great people, and also due to her tenacity, she remained independent in her own home until April 2011. At this time, she moved to an assisted living facility in Winnipeg. Sincere thanks to all of Alice's homecare team, and especially to Elma and Adora. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church, 353 Thornhill St., Morden, with Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery, Roland. Memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9, or to a charity of one's choice.
