LUCIEN GUERTIN November 22, 1912 November 5, 2011 Peacefully, surrounded by family, Lucien passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Meadowood Manor. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Annette of 72 years and his children: Claudette Sayles, Anita Pressey (Peter), Jacqueline Skyhar (Ed), Gil (Sharon), eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was born in St. Malo, MB but moved to Winnipeg at a young age. Lou had a long and varied career which included owning a restaurant, a resort on the Winnipeg River, and other businesses, but was most remembered by his long service with Air Canada where he retired in 1973. Lucien was very fond of his cottage in the Whiteshell where he enjoyed the outdoors and watching nature. He was a devoted husband and father, his kindness was felt by all of us. He was always willing to offer a helping hand. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Meadowood Manor for their care and compassion during Lucien's stay. A celebration of Lucien's life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12 in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO.
