EDITH MARY NEILSON (nee ARGUE) (WEIDNER) November 11, 1922 - November 22, 2010 Edith, born in Brandon, daughter of Robert and Ethel (Harding) Argue passed away peacefully in Abbotsford, BC, after a long struggle with diabetes. Remembering her are daughter, Gloria (Ed) Cooper, grandchildren, Tannis (Ray) Fuller, Warren (Michelle) and Chris (Lisa); Kathy Neilson (Jeff); Carol Neilson, grandson Greg; Russell Neilson; daughter-in-law Carol Neilson, grandchildren Susan and Tony. Also siblings Hazel Larsen, Gordon (Fran) Argue and Gerald Argue; sisters-in-law Elsie Teimer, Irene Weidner; brother-in-law Ernie Weidner, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Bill Weidner (1947), husband Francis Neilson (2000), son Reg Neilson, granddaughter Nicole Neilson, siblings and their spouses Reg, Robert (Gladys), Leslie (Gwen), Ernest (Nellie), Karl Larsen, Lillian Dellanoy (Louis) and Harvey. Edith was a quiet soul who, if she could, would take all your troubles onto herself. She cherished her family and doted on her great-grandkids, Will Fuller; Kaitlyn, Melissa and Michael Cooper; Nicholas and Alex Cooper; McKenna and Danika Neilson; James Neilson. Edith grew up on a farm near Lonely Lake / Moordale, MB, where she attended school. She joined the armed forces. She married Bill whose early death left her to raise Gloria as a single parent. She married Francis Neilson, had four more children and lived in Winnipeg, Brandon, Dawson Creek and Abbotsford. Her life regretfully had many trials but her spirit kept her strong. This strength allowed her family to enjoy her company for an extra five years through her difficult dialysis regimen. There was a family memorial in Big River, SK, July 2011. Tomorrow (her Birthday) we invite all who remember her to take the time to wish her a peaceful afterlife. Mom didn't want to be 100 but she had hoped to celebrate November 11, 2011 - her 89th birthday. So Happy Birthday nevertheless, dear Mother. Please support the Diabetes and Kidney Foundations who took such good care of Mom. Special thanks to the Department of Veterans Affairs whose services were very appreciated.
