PEARL WILCHUK Peacefully on November 7, 2011 at Lions Prairie Manor in Portage La Prairie, Pearl Wilchuk passed away at the age of 89. Predeceased by her husband Basil in 1972, Pearl is survived by her children Alice Beer and Sally (Mel) Clisby, and grandchildren Christine (Jason) Carl, Ursula (Lane) Sikasak, and great-grandchildren Megan Clisby and Brice and Connor Sikasak. Pearl was born in Pansy, MB and moved to Winnipeg as a young woman and met her future husband Basil. They were married February 1945. They spent 27 years together in Winnipeg, Flin Flon and Neepawa. In Flin Flon the family outings were spent fishing and enjoying the catch of the day. Mom always had a love of gardening and supplying family and friends with fruits of the harvest. While in Neepawa she worked in East View Lodge until she retired in 1987. She always enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Olena and Mich in 1954 as well as sisters and brothers-in-law Tina (Henry), Lena (Joe), Mary (Steve), and brothers and sisters-in-law Jarey (Doris) and Bill (Stella) and son-in law Ernie Beer and brother-in-law Jack Wyryha. Also mourning her passing sister Ann and brother Joe (Phyllis), and many relatives, friends, nieces and nephews and good friend Dave Pohl. The family would like to thank the staff at Lions Prairie Manor where Mom spent the last three years for their excellent care, as well as the palliative care team and Laura from TLC. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11 at White's Funeral Home, 271 Mountain Ave. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Neepawa. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice. White's Funeral Home in Neepawa in care of funeral arrangements.
