Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET MARY FINGER (nee MCMILLAN) October 16, 1914 - November 7, 2011 After living a full and wonderful life of 97 years, Margaret passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Hospital Care Centre, November 7, 2011. Margaret is survived by her loving son Bruce, Victoria, BC, sister Joan Rae (Bill), Trail BC, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce in 1983, her parents, Florence and Duncan McMillan; brothers Duncan, Colin, Billy and Allan. Margaret was born in Port Arthur, Ontario October 16, 1914. She would be the first of six children. She attended and graduated from St Joseph's School of Nursing with her R.N. Later she would enlist in the RCAMC as a Nursing Sister. While in the Medical Corps she would marry her future husband, Bruce. Both were transferred to England with the Sixth Field Hospital. After the war, she and Bruce moved to Winnipeg to begin their family. Margaret did some private nursing while Bruce began a career at Deer Lodge Hospital. Later in life, Margaret decided to return to nursing and achieved her B.Sc. Nursing at the University of Manitoba. Soon she would become a lecturer at the University of Manitoba, Nursing Education of which she was very proud and truly enjoyed. Margaret also enjoyed the summers spent at the family cottage at Moose Lake. Margaret was very sociable, had a great sense of humor, and at times could be fiesty. Special thanks to Laurie Bracken and Joann MacMorran for all their support over the past years. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
