JOHN (MORLEY) MCARTER It is with deep sadness that the family says good-bye to John (Morley) McArter, who passed away on Monday, November 7, 2011, at the age of 87 years. Left to forever cherish Morley's memory is his loving wife Jean, of 64 years of marriage; as well he will be deeply missed by his six children, Ann (Derek), Diane (Larry), Beth (Jim), John, Cameron (Michelle), Karen (Len); 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father Jim; mother Winifred; brother Frederick; sister Myrtle; daughter Kathy, and grandson Robert. Morley was born in Hartney on February 2, 1924. He resided there until 1942 when he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. Throughout his 34 years of service Morley was stationed at Ottawa, North Bay, Winnipeg, and Chatham, NB before retiring as a Master Warrant Officer to Winnipeg, MB. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 43 years. Following Morley's retirement from the Forces he spent 11 years working for Sears Canada in Winnipeg. The family wishes to thank Dr. P. Harris, the staff at the CancerCare Clinic and Second Floor Grace Hospital for their compassionate care. On Tuesday, November 15, 2011, Morley's Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue. His interment will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in Hartney, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Morley McArter to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7, the Royal Canadian Legion, or a charity of your choice.
