Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ANN GRIMSHIRE Mary Ann Grimshire (nee Black) passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Frederick John Grimshire, in 2001; and infant daughter, Shirley, in 1961. Mary Ann will be sadly missed by her brother, Duncan Black of Carmen; her children, Lawrence (Beverly), David of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Donald (Debbie), Lois (Alan) Wotton; and grandchildren, John, William, Mark, Kevin, Michael, Sean; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born on January 2, 1928, in Carmen, Manitoba, Mom worked in a bank in Morris, then came to Winnipeg and worked at the Fork Osborne Barracks, where she met and married Fred on May 19, 1953. Later she went on to work for the Manitoba Government for 18 years as a secretary in many departments. She worked for Executive Council under Ed Schreyer's government and the last position held was with Manitoba Labour Mediation and Conciliation Services before retiring in 1988. Mary Ann and Fred enjoyed travelling and went on numerous trips visiting family, meeting friends and having good times. Special thanks to the caring and knowledgeable staff of Riverview Health Centre CD-2. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba (www.alzheimer.mb.ca) or Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 2P4. Funeral services for Mary Ann will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
