JOSEPH ELNISKY March 18, 1915 - November 10, 2011 After a full life, Joe Elnisky passed away on November 10, 2011. He will be lovingly remembered by Mary, his wife of 53 years, their daughter Donna (Harlan), granddaughters Alexis and Beth (Todd), his brother Stanley, sisters Edna, Joyce, Elsie (Lou), Mary, Sophie (Bill) and many nieces and nephews. Joe grew up on the family farm near Glenella, Manitoba, the second eldest of 12 children born to August and Joanna Elnisky. Joe farmed for Joe worked hard for CN for many years, starting on the B B crew building timber bridges across Manitoba and Saskatchewan and then in the lumber yard at the Transcona shops until his retirement in 1980. With his roots on the farm, Joe always had the best garden around, and he liked to share the fruits of his labour with friends and relatives. Joe was a long-serving volunteer at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Parish in Transcona, making perogie's to raise money for the church. He enjoyed sharing stories with his many friends in the Friendly Settlers Seniors' group. The family would like to thank the staff of Misericordia Health Centre 5C for looking after Joe so well during his stay there. Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 15, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 100 Yale Avenue East, in Winnipeg, with Reverend. Dr. Greg Zubacz presiding. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral Arrangements In Care Of WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVE.
