LILLIAN SCHULTZ Lillian was born March 21, 1923 on a farm in the Ridgeville area to Martha and Julius Ratchinsky. She spent her early childhood near Ridgeville, completed grade 12 in Emerson High School, then graduated from Winnipeg Normal School in 1942. She taught in the rural schools of Dufferin, Emirada, Aux Marais and Ridgeville and also Emerson between 1961 and 1964. She married Gerhard Schultz on July 5, 1945 and celebrated their 66th anniversary this year. She will be remembered by her husband Gerhard, her two sons Ken (Nancy), Alan (Laura); four grandchildren; Kara; Kurt, Ryan and Derek, three great-granddaughters; Kendra, Abigail, Hailey and twin great-grandsons Dante and Lanzen, sister Irene (Dolly) Rodewald and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister Adeline in 1975 and parents Julius and Martha. Lillian was a charter and life member of the Royal Purple of Emerson and lifetime member of Emerson Lutheran church and LCW where she acted on various committees and taught Sunday school. She was an avid curler with the Emerson Curling Club for 30 years. Her hobbies were crafts and camping and she enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She spent many years in Arizona and Texas and had good times with friends and family Down South'. In 1998 Lillian and Gerhard moved into the Oakview Manor in Emerson where they enjoyed socializing with friends and neighbours. The funeral service for Lillian Schultz will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Emerson, Manitoba with interment to follow in the Emerson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Emerson Emmanuel Lutheran Church building fund or Emerson Fire Department would be appreciated. If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever!
