KATHLEEN BERNICE GALBRAITH (nee BROWN) Peacefully, on November 11, 2011, at Oakview Place, at the age of 93 years. Bernice is survived by her son Dennis, wife Linda; granddaughter Trena, husband Derek Thorsteinson; granddaughter Taralee Galbraith, and by her three great-grandsons Trent, Brady and Callum who always brought a smile to her face. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1977, brothers Douglas, Gordon and Russell Brown and by sisters Lorena Newberry, Dorothy Chubb, Leona Arthur and Marguerite Davrah. Bernice was born in Killarney, Manitoba, January 15, 1918 and married Jack, May 23, 1942. She and Jack made their home in St. James. She was a homemaker who loved cooking and gardening. She was a member of St. James United Church. After Jack's death Bernice became active in the North Centennial Seniors and in the St. James Horticultural Society. She won many awards for her talent at flower arranging. Throughout her life she showed care and compassion to many. Bernice will be missed by her loving family. In lieu of flowers, if so desired donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the staff of Oakview Place for their care and support. Memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 16 at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., across from Brookside Cemetery.
