Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANOR CHRISTINA CHUCKO (nee SCHETTLER) Peacefully, with her family by her side, Eleanor passed away on November 10, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander (Alec) in 2003. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Carver (Tricia) and her grandchildren, Madison, Dana and Jack along with innumerable nieces and nephews. Eleanor was born in Plumas, Manitoba, on the family farm on December 26, 1924. Her family moved to Winnipeg when Eleanor was one. She lived in the family house at 443 McKenzie until 1978, when she moved to 532 Jefferson. At the young age of 22 years, shortly after the war, Eleanor went into business for herself opening the Flower Shop in the heart of the North End at Salter and Aberdeen. Through the business Eleanor made friends and contacts throughout the city. Many of these friendships lasted her entire life. She married Alec Chucko (Czujko) in 1957, and they had one son, Robert, in 1959. Eleanor spent many happy times at the family cottage in the Whiteshell, always surrounded by family and friends. Eleanor's life centered around her family. She was the youngest of eight children. Her life always revolved around caring for those near to her. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. MacMillan and Rhonda, who were a great support to her over the many years. Also a very special thanks to her niece Linda York, her husband, Glen, and their family for their unwavering devotion.
