GEORGINA D. KNOWLES Georgina D. Knowles, 82, passed away at her home in San Marcos, CA., November 5, 2011. She was born August 17, 1929, in Winnipeg, Canada. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Robert Knowles; infant daughter, Cathryn; and her parents, Bill and Ina Cole. Georgina is survived by a son, Douglas (Carolyn) Knowles; a daughter, Diane (John) Meizis; a brother, Bill (Elsie) Cole; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. She received her Teacher's Certificate from The Toronto Conservatory of Music and taught piano for many years. She was a Cub Scout leader and danced as a member of the Winnipeg Police Troupe, entertaining soldiers during the Second World War. In California, Georgina worked as a legal secretary and was active in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In her mid-seventies she volunteered with the San Marcos Sheriff's Department. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on November 27 at Grace Episcopal Church 1020 Rose Ranch Rd., San Marcos, CA.
