TANNER JAY MICHAEL FEWCHUK May 3 1996 November 11, 2011 On November 11, 2011, tragically and unexpectedly, our beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, Tanner was taken into God's care. Tanner will be forever remembered by his parents, Leanne (Perry) and Rick (Judy); brothers, Bretton and Jared; his sisters, Kara (Joe) and Kristy; his niece, Kaitlyn; and nephew, Jaxon; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tanner was predeceased by his grandparents, Reg and Leona Waterman, and Mike and Edna Fewchuk. Tanner was born on May 3, 1996. He lived and attended school in the Selkirk area his entire life. With his beautiful smile, gentle manner and sense of humour, Tanner made friends wherever he went. During the summer, Tanner loved to spend time at the family cottage in Husavik with his grandparents and family. As a young man with endless energy, he loved skateboarding, playing hockey, lacrosse, basketball, and road hockey. Tanner's skating skills earned him the nickname Shakey by his teammates. Tanner had a strong sense of adventure and determination, and was not afraid of taking risks. Most of all, Tanner enjoyed spending time chillin' out with many friends. He enjoyed helping his friends and his family, and could cheer them up by entertaining them with his rapping skills, unusual dance moves, and jokes. Tanner's death has left a tremendous void in our hearts and lives. Everyone who knew him, especially his brothers Bretton and Jared and his sisters Kara and Kristy will sadly miss his smile and the bounce in his step. Tanner blessed us with the happiness he gave to us in countless special ways and our hearts can smile forever in his remembrance. Cremation has taken place. Friends are asked to join the family in a celebration of Tanner's life on Thursday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Christ Church in Selkirk, located at 227 McLean Ave. Tanner's honourary bros (pallbearers), Troy Massey, Jordan Felde, Joey Fourgere, Mitchell Peebles, Quaid Sutherland, Ben Massey, Logan Hilts-Mercer, Brayden Fitskowski, David McLean, Bryce Gangon, and Ryan Comeau. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tanner's memory can be made to M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), or the Selkirk Skate Park care of the Selkirk District Community Foundation.
