Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAM (AGNES) IWANKOW (nee KWIECIEN) May 8, 1927 November 13, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mom passed away peacefully after a short stay in Concordia Hospital. She will be forever remembered by her children: Randy (Margaret), Garry (Donna) and Sharon (Rick); sister Eve Thompson; sister-in-law Gladys Kwiecien; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Also missing her is her loving dog and companion Zoey . Mom's family was her life. She enjoyed nothing more than everyone together at a family gathering! She lived proudly in her East Kildonan home for 60 years, surviving the last 37 of them alone after the sudden passing of her husband John in 1974. Mom was also predeceased by two infant children; her parents Sophie and Daniel Kwiecien; sisters Francis, Virginia, Bernice, Carrie, Min, Julia and brother Frank. Her life was a busy one. She worked for Perth's Cleaners as a key punch operator for 12 years and later worked for several other companies in an administrative capacity during the 1970's and 1980's. She was actively involved with John Black United Church as a member and a leader for eight years to the 158th Brownie Pack. As Brown Owl she enjoyed watching the growth of many young girls in Brownies. Mom curled for years with the East Kildonan Ladies Curling Club at Rossmere enjoying the competition and friendship. As Nana to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she adored them all and loved to be with them whenever she could. The family wishes to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their professional and compassionate care during Mom's final days. A memorial service celebrating Mom's life will take place on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the John Black United Church, 898 Henderson Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
