Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN BALLARD April 11, 1927 - November 10, 2011 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jean Ballard (née Snow), peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre on November 10, 2011 at the age of 84. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband John. She is survived by her two sons, Ian (Jenny) and Neil (Grace); and her grand-children, Emma, Alex, Kate, Melissa, Meaghan and Samantha, as well as her nephew and nieces in Ontario, England and South Africa. Jean was born in Devon, England and lived in a number of places in England, Switzerland and Germany before moving to Canada in 1978, making many lasting friendships along the way. She and her husband John lived in Oakville, Ontario until they retired when they moved to the Okanagan. In 2005, she moved to Winnipeg to be closer to her family. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at the Deer Lodge Centre for their care and attention. The family also wishes to thank her friends and fellow residents, as well as the staff, at the Shaftsbury Park Seniors Residence who made her stay there so enjoyable. A celebration of Jean's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, (across from Brookside Cemetery). In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or the Manitoba Wildlife Rehabilitation Organization online at www.wildlifehaven.ca.
