AURICE H. TESSIER (nee LAVALLEE) It is with our deepest sorrow the family announces the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Aurice Hilda Tessier on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Golden West Centennial Lodge, at the age of 93 years. Left to mourn Aurice are her daughters Evelyn Gladbach, Dian Fulford (Kerry); sons Archie (Val), Lawrence (Cecile), Eugene (Vivian), Dennis, Wayne (Donna), Greg and Brian; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law Jean and Carol; sisters-in-law Therese, Myrtle; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Joe, and sons Norman and Leo. Mom was born and raised in St. Ambroise, MB where she met and married her husband Joseph Tessier. They then moved to Broad Valley, MB and proudly started raising their 11 children without the benefits of electricity or running water for many years. She worked so hard sewing, baking, cooking, canning and gardening. By the time Saturday nights rolled around, with all the chores done and children bathed, she still had the energy and loved nothing more than dancing to Dad's fiddling. Eulogies will begin at 9:15 a.m. followed by Funeral Liturgy being Celebrated on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB with Rev. José Eduardo Medeiros, presiding. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue. We would like to thank the nurses and staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for the hugs and compassionate care they gave Mom; thank-you Kristen.
