FRED KOTYK Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Fred Kotyk passed away at the Beausejour Hospital on November 10, 2011 at the age of 80 with his daughters by his side. Our Dad was born in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba then moved to Winnipeg to continue his career as a carpenter. It was in Winnipeg where he met his first wife Olga. Together they raised three children and Dad started his own contractors company Albany Builders. Dad employed many people throughout the years. He enjoyed bowling, curling, golfing, fishing, skidooing, working in his garden, and watching the birds. In the early years he went to many Blue Bomber games and when he could no longer attend the games he would watch them on TV. Dad enjoyed having fun. Many good times were had at his place in Ste. Rita. In October 1997 Dad married his second wife Emma. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Dad was predeceased by Emma in 2010, his son Brian in 2005, Olga in 1994, his parents and four sisters. Dad leaves to cherish his memory his faithful dog Dexter who he had the chance to say goodbye to; daughter Gail (Len), daughter Sharon (Rob) and their children, Matthew and Carlee; one sister Dorothy; also his brothers, Philip (Sylvia), Harvey (Stella) and Karl (Norma) and their families and his godchildren. It was often heard that Dad was their favourite uncle. He also leaves behind many friends. Dad was a thoughtful, lovable person but could be stubborn too. The family extends their gratitude to all the staff at the Beausejour Hospital, and Homecare ladies for their compassionate care. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beausejour Hospital or to a charity of one's choice. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca
