ETHEL PETERS (SVEINSON) With sadness and love we announce the passing of Ethel Peters (Sveinson) on August 14, 2011 at age 97 in Toronto. She was predeceased by her husband Helgi Peters. She was a loving mother to Karen, Douglas, daughter-in-law Kim and the late Eleanor and proud Amma to Lynne Kamm, Carrie Kamm, Jennifer Verhaeghe and Michael Peters. Ethel grew up on a farm near Cypress River, MB. Ethel and Helgi raised their family in Winnipeg (actually St. Vital) and spent their retirement mostly in Toronto. After she was widowed, Ethel and longtime friend Constance (Queenie) Harris (nee Peatman), took cruises and visited Great Britain, France, Alaska, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. At age 90, Ethel travelled to Iceland with her first born granddaughter Lynne. At 92, Ethel and Karen visited Winnipeg and Cypress River enjoying seeing her old friends, former neighbours, nieces and their families.
