KEN KIKUKAWA 1937 - 2011 On Tuesday, November 8, 2011 Ken passed away at Stonewall, MB. Ken was born in Ocean Falls, BC on April 21, 1937 to Ichimasa and Tsuya Kikukawa. The family relocated to Elrose, SK where Ken started school. In 1944, the family moved again to a dairy farm, three and one half miles east of Stonewall, MB and Ken attended the Best School at the corner of Highways 7 and 67. Later, the farm was sold and the family moved to Stonewall, where Ken completed his education. Ken worked for Manitoba Hydro for 35 years, retiring in 1992. He is survived by two sons Steve (Lena) and family of Winnipeg, Shawn and family of Winnipeg; sisters, Florence (Dave) Hamel and family of Ottawa, Evelyn Pattison and family of Barrhead, Scotland, and brother Joe (Beth) and family of Sanford. Over the years Ken was well known for organizing many reunions in the area. He was a life member of Argyle Curling Club, member of the Stonewall United Church and was on the committee of the Heritage Arts Centre. Ken was instrumental in organizing S.C.I. reunion in 2008 to coincide with Stonewall's Centennial. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, Rev. Leonard Oracheski will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined.
