Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS MAUD AFFLECK November 13, 1921 - November 13, 2011 Peacefully, at Golden Links Lodge, on her 90th birthday. Phyllis is remembered lovingly by her sons, Gordon (Lynda) and Bill (Donna), her stepson Ian (Bev), and her brother Fred (Helen), and by all of their families. She was predeceased by her husbands, Alvin Affleck and Alfred Greaves, by her daughter Penny, and by her sister Helen Poulin and her parents, Sy and Gertrude Symonds. She was born in Maymont, Saskatchewan, and raised in North Battleford. In 1948, she married Alfred Greaves. They lived in North Battleford and Regina before settling in Winnipeg in 1957. Phyllis enjoyed singing and music all of her life. She was a longtime member of St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Windsor Park, and an active member of the church choir. She happily served as Choirmistress at the church for ten years. She enjoyed golfing and watching all sports, especially football and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. After Alfred's death in 1978, she married Alvin Affleck. They enjoyed 18 years together, especially in Mesa each winter, before Alvin's death in 1999. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Golden Links Lodge for her exceptional care over the past ten years. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 830 North Drive, Winnipeg on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. A private interment for the family will be held at a later date.
