Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET DELANEY August 14, 1926 November 17, 2011 It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Margaret Delaney, at the St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 85 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Linda (Peter); sons, Ron, Al (Clare), Mike (Michelle), Wes (Jacquie); grandchildren, Mark (Katina), Lisa (Murray), Jenny (Kelly), Ryan, Nicole, John, Tesla, Tyler, Evan and Avery; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Noah, Wyatt, Leland, Tyson, Tristin, and Hailey; brothers, Steve (Florence) from Nanaimo, B.C., and Lloyd (Doris) from Innisfail, Alberta, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and very special longtime friend, Helen Haggarty. She was predeceased by her husband, Stan, in 1994; her parents, William and Margaret Miller; sisters, Jean Peters, Mary Boyce; and brothers, Bill Miller and Jim Miller. Margaret was born August 14, 1926, in Kamsack, Saskatchewan. She spent most of her childhood in Dugald, Manitoba, on the family farm. She married Stan Delaney, the love of her life, August 2, 1946. She spent the first 13 years of her marriage living in Elmwood, Victoria, B.C., and East Kildonan, until 1959, when they moved to Rivercrest, West St. Paul. She loved living in Rivercrest, and made many long-standing friendships in the community. Margaret then went to work at Eaton's in the woman's clothing department. She enjoyed her job, and still talked about it recently. In 1974, the family moved to Netley, Manitoba, where they enjoyed 20 great years. Every year they hosted an Annual Corn Roast which was enjoyed by all their friends and family. She loved to garden and every summer the yard was full of beautiful flowers. Margaret was a beautiful and kind person. She had a wonderful sense of humour that stayed with her right to the end. She will always be remembered for her unique laugh and beautiful smile. Her happiest times were at family gatherings. She loved to dance and always enjoyed a good party! Her family was her life and she cherished each and every one of them! The family would like to thank the wonderful staff on 5B and 5E at St. Boniface Hospital, for the excellent care, compassion and dignity they showed to mom. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. With a luncheon to follow at the Selkirk Legion. A private family interment will follow at St. Clements Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Margaret to the Selkirk Legion, Branch 42, 403 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB, R1A 1N8. We love you Mom. You are forever in our memory!
