ANNE CHURKO May 8, 1913 November 20, 2011 After a courageous struggle, Anne is finally at peace. Anne passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Seven Oaks Hospital. Although our family is saddened by our loss, we are honoured to have had her in our lives. Her inner strength, perseverance, warm, caring nature and strong faith in God, has served her well. Anne was born in St. Andrew's (Rossdale), MB, to parents, Xenia and Michael Troniak. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charlie; her sisters, Sally Guyda, Josie Bodyk (Windsor, ON), Jean Grocholski, Carole Maygard; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by sister, Clara Zaretski; brothers, John and Bernie Troniak; stepsisters, Mary Zelych and Rose Miller. Anne married Charlie, her soul-mate, on October 25, 1952. They resided at 628 Atlantic Ave., for 54 years. Having had no children of their own, they really had many, as they embraced all their nieces and nephews as their own. The door was always open; their home, a place for family and friends to gather. We all have wonderful memories of Auntie Anne's delicious meals, baking and knitted/crocheted afghans. Anne worked at McDonald Aircraft and later McFayden Seeds; however, her main focus was always Charlie and her family. For the past few years, Anne and Charlie have resided at Amber Meadow. Anne was a gentle, kind woman who was loved by all. Anne displayed love, kindness, support, and understanding all her life. She has left us a legacy of a life well-lived. Her faith in God was strong and it gave her much strength. She was a longtime member of Holy Ghost Church on Selkirk Avenue. The family wishes to thank Natasha and the Home Care Group, Jan (pharmacist at Hartford Drugs), the staff at Amber Meadow and Seven Oaks Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A celebration of Anne's life will be held on Friday, November 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. A reception will be held after burial back at Cropo Chapel (Rose Room). 586-8044
