STELLA YUSISHEN Peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2011 our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Stella Yusishen passed away at the Beausejour General Hospital. She leaves to cherish her life, her son Larry and wife Mary Anne, granddaughters Sheree and Amanda (friend Bruce) and the love of her life, her great-grandson Hunter, along with many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Steve in 1996, and daughter Victoria in 1999. Mom was born on February 27, 1923 to Joseph and Marina (Petryshen) Romanow at Swan Plan, Saskatchewan. In 1940 the Romanow family moved to Winnipeg. Mom first worked in Winnipeg for Building Products, and later at a candy factory. Mom and Dad married in 1944, and moved to Thalberg, Manitoba where they farmed and raised their family. They were members of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Parish, and Mom served with the sisterhood for many years. In 1984 they retired to Beausejour, and became members of the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Parish. Mom was a faithful member of the U.C.W.L. She was always there to give a willing and helpful hand. Beau-Head Seniors played an important part of both Mom and Dad's life in Beausejour. Mom and Dad could almost always be found there enjoying the fellowship of the other members. Mom served on the Board of Directors for many years, and if any help was needed, she was there. Mom also enjoyed her bingo evenings, cribbage games, casino trips and socializing with the many friends she had made over the years, especially her two dearest friends Jean and Elise. The family would like to thank Dr. Zieler and the staff of the Beausejour Hospital for the wonderful care given to her. She often referred to the staff as her angels. Please join us to celebrate Mom's life at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 6th Street and Park Avenue, Beausejour, Manitoba on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. with liturgy to follow at 10:00 a.m. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stella's memory to the Beausejour District Hospital, Box 1178, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0 or the charity of one's choice.
