ARTHUR DERHAK Peacefully in his sleep, Arthur passed away at Betel home in Gimli on November 21 2011. Arthur is lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years Emily; his children Sonia (Peter) McGraw, Allen, Hope Gingrich, and David. His grandchildren Alina McGraw, Kristine McGraw, Cris (Janae), Megan (Paul) Reid, Ethan (Denae) Gingrich. He was predeceased by his parents Steve and Anne Derhak; brothers Walter, Eugene, sister Olga Maas and sister-in-law Kay Derhak. Arthur was born on the farm in Sifton, MB on July 27, 1922. At 17 Arthur left home and became involved in a number of endeavours such as a farm hand, cooking in lumber camps, working at a fertilizer mine, and 20 years in the army. In 1946 Arthur met the love of his life Emily. They were married on April 14 1947 in Dauphin, Manitoba. In 1987 Arthur joined his wife in serving Jehovah God and was dedicated and baptized on December 19th of that year. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Winnipeg Beach. Luncheon will follow after the service. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. R.C. Patel and nursing staff at the Gimli Betel Home for their compassion and kindness for the past two years. In lieu of flowers a donation box will be available. There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved. Fathers don't just love their children every now and then, it's love without an end.
