Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLIGAYA SUNGAHID CLEODORO Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Fred Douglas Lodge, surrounded by the love of her family, Ligaya Sungahid Cleodoro joined her creator at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her husband Bienvenido Cleodoro Sr; her parents Macario and Carmen Sungahid, her two brothers Manuel and Cesar Sungahid and her grandson Rommel Cundangan. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Jonas (Rowena), Rosario (Emiliano) Cundangan, Cynthia, Bienvenido Jr. (Nida), Josephine (Rogelio) Besa, Mylene (Rowel) Tipan, Joel (Cielley Jane) and Jomar Cleodoro. Her memory will live on through her grandchildren: Eloina, Monica, Patrick, Randy, Jan Michael, Joanna, J.C, Larizza, Jan Ranier, Liophen, Mark Julius, K.C, Carlo, Angelo, Joecel, Joerel, and Janelly and three great-grandchildren Marcus, Mikaella, and Riza. She also leaves behind her siblings, many nieces and nephews from Edmonton, the United States and the Philippines. Nanay Ligaya was born on March 22, 1928 in Aliaga, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. She came to Canada in 1987 where she took great joy in raising and guiding her grandchildren nurturing them from the time they were babies until she was no longer able to. Along with her husband, she instilled strong family values and the importance of religion. She was an amazing cook and looked forward to having her family come over for Sunday dinners. She loved planting flowers and vegetables in her garden and enjoyed travelling to the Philippines to visit her family and friends. Lamay (viewing) will be held on Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26 from 6:00 p.m. until midnight with prayers at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. with Rev. Msgr. Enrique Samson presiding. Reception to follow in the parish hall. Interment will be held at a later date in the Philippines. The family wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to the management and staff in the Maple and Evergreen Ward of the Fred Douglas Lodge for their compassion and dedication that they provided to Nanay Ligaya during her stay at Fred Douglas.
