MABEL COLLINS Peacefully with courage, strength, and family by her side, Mabel Collins age 90, passed away after a brief illness at the Boundary Trails Health Centre on Monday, November 21, 2011. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children: Faye (John) Homer, grandchildren Laura and Ian; Doug, and Bruce. As well she is survived by one sister Anne Weiss, two brothers Albert Kein and Don (Lorraine) Kein, and one brother-in-law John Chubaty. She was predeceased by her husband Ross in October, 1999. Mom and Dad worked side by side farming until their retirement to Emerson in 1986. Like all who lived in the area, life was hard but they found strength and joy in their church and community. Mom made time to be part of the W.I., Lutheran Church Women, 4-H and teaching Sunday School. Mom loved abundantly, was generous in doing for others, strong in her faith, and making the best home-made bread ever! Mom was very blessed with close friends and a community that supported her when building a new life for herself after Dad's passing. We sincerely thank all of you for helping her have an abundant life. Mom, we thank you for unshakeable love and support, your gentleness, and for showing what a down to earth genuine faith in God is all about. We all are truly children of God. As a family we are thankful to God for allowing us to spend time with Mom and that she is now safe with Jesus. Time will be but a blink of an eye until we meet again. The funeral service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Friedensthal, on Friday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. If so desired, donations can be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
