DONALD ROSS LAW Unexpectedly on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the age of 55 years, Don passed away in his sleep at home in New Denver, BC. Don was the only son of Gerald and Marjorie (Mardie) Law of Winnipeg. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Debbie, of 30 years; their sons Jesse of Vancouver, BC, and Casey of Grand Prairie, AB; his sister Sherry, and her husband Peter MacDonald, and their children Lindsey, Carling, and Duncan, all of Winnipeg. Don was born in Edmonton in 1956, and later the family moved to Winnipeg in 1960. Don attended Angus McKay Elementary, River Heights, St. Paul's High School, and the University of Winnipeg. A gifted writer, business man, Don supported many of the activities of the New Denver community, including his presidency of the New Denver Chamber of Commerce. He also wrote of his love of the mountains, and the lake as he described the blue green waters of the Slocan in New Denver, where he loved to swim. New Denver was his Shangri-la. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held on November 18 at the community centre in New Denver. His precious family and friends of many years were in attendance. Don will be forever loved and remembered.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I knew Don during the time he was at St. Paul's back in the 1970's. We became friends and did quite a few things together. I have quite a few memories of Don at school and the family home on Wellington Crescent. We lost touch after he went to the University of Winnipeg which was unfortunate. He was a nice guy. - Posted by: Phil Mowatt (friend and former student at St. Paul's high school) on: Jan 18, 2012
