LAUREL JEANNE WHITNEY
Date of Passing: Nov 16, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAUREL JEANNE WHITNEY At peace in her sleep in the early morning of November 16, 2011, at the age of 87, at her home in Lion's Manor. As per her wishes, cremation and private interment have taken place at Chapel Lawn. Laurel was predeceased by her parents, Winnifred and Willard Whitney, brothers Calvin and Lloyd Whitney, her sister Muriel Newton and her niece, Pat Whitney. Laurel's gentle, loving spirit, compassion and elegance will always be remembered and cherished by nieces and nephews Bill Whitney (Chris), Brenda Newton-Horbatiuk (Terry), Laurie Agar (Don), and Whitney Newton (Diane) and their families as well as special friends June Anderson, Dorothy McDowell, Judy Lewadny, U.G.G. co-workers, TTY operators and the many friends and care workers she leaves behind in Lion's Manor Personal Care Centre, Supportive Housing, Assisted Living and Independent Living. Laurel lost her hearing and eventually her sight but never her sense of humour, her marbles, nor that oh-so-wonderful smile; she always knew exactly who you were and made you feel as if that was something to celebrate! She could never have comprehended how many of our lives she touched nor to what depths. Please email your favourite memories of Laurel to brendanewtonclaystudio@gmail.com where we will gather them for a future Memorial Celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, Laurel would want you to support a charity of your choosing.
