RUSSELL (RUSS) GERARD HURD On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, Russ died at Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 61 years. A longer obituary notice will follow in Saturday, December 3, 2011 newspaper edition.

RUSSELL GERARD HURD March 12, 1950 - November 23, 2011 Surrounded by the love of his family, Russell passed away at the young age of 61 years at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Left to forever cherish Russell's memory are his three children, Amanda (Bryan), Emily (Scott), Tony (Kirby); nine grandchildren; five brothers; three sisters and in-laws; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Alymer and Adeline, and sister Carolyne. Russell was the best father and grandfather that anyone could ask for. He was also a super brother and uncle. He cherished his family and nothing could come in the way of his love for them. Russell loved camping, fishing (both summer and winter), and golfing. He will be greatly missed by all of his family. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Fatoye, Dr. Joanna and the nursing staff on the 5th floor, Units 4 and 6 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Your care for Russell is greatly appreciated. In compliance with Russell's wishes a private family service will take place at a future date. Donations in Russell's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Russell, you are gone but never forgotten; you're at home now. We will love you always.
