To a very dear friend Alice. May you rest in Peace! I have known sister Alice in Winnipeg, Manitoba since 1976 when my son, Gerard, was born. She used to come and babysit for me just so I can have a break. Being a single mom is pretty hard. We became very close. In 1979, I moved to Lynn Lake Manitoba for my full time teaching career, she again came to help me settle down, that's my Alice that I know. ALWAYS thinking and helping others. Then we moved to Surrey BC and again she visited me here, spent few weeks with us. We corresponded quite often, never cease to share each other's joys, sorrows and my problem. Then one day, letters stopped. I tried to find her her, asked the Grey nuns but nothing. I never knew what happened. The last letter she wrote to me was that, she told me she was getting frail and was moved to a home. I tried to send a letter to the address but I never got any response. My heart ached for her and prayed that someday I will still see her. Today, I was reading the obituary of a friend of mine in Halifax and thought of looking into the obituary section (googled) and my suspicion was confirmed. My dear sister Alice, I am so sorry our friendship ended without knowing what happened to you. I will never forget you wherever you are and I know you are in a better place now. Please pray for me and my family. I am now a grandma of a beautiful grandson Domanik. Gerry is now a father, 38, years old. You should have been very proud of what he has accomplished. May you rest in Peace!!! - Posted by: Mrs. Rosita Duna (A Very Close Friend) on: Feb 07, 2015
