FRED C. CAVE Fred Cave passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Deer Lodge Centre after a lengthy illness, with his son Jeff and wife Suzanne at his side, He was predeceased by his loving wife Frances, parents Charles and Ada, sister Eva, and brother Bob. Fred will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all his family including his son Jeff (Suzanne), brother William (Yvonne), and sister Connie, stepdaughters Brenda, Shirley (Bill) and granddaughter Erin, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Fred was a down to earth, kind and gentle man who went out of his way to help everyone he met. He was a man of true grit just like his favourite actor John Wayne. He was so proud of his Canadian heritage and served faithfully in the Second World War. He loved to walk, play golf and could play a mean card game. He spent his working career as a dedicated Eaton's employee and retired to spend many years loving and caring for his wife Frances. According to Fred's wishes there will be no formal service. The family wishes to thank Deer Lodge Centre for their exceptional care and kindness. Fred's Favourite Poem Crossing the Bar Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar When I put out to sea. But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound or foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell When I embark. For though from out our bourne of time and place The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my pilot face to face When I have crossed the bar. Alfred Tennyson If family or friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army or Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba.
