Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySISTER NOELLIA DORGE (Soeur Andre-Joseph) Fille de la Croix December 1917 November 2011 With grieving hearts, Les Filles de la Croix announce the passing of our dear Sister Noëlia Dorge on November 25, 2011, at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers Emilien, Télesphore and Alphee, and brother-in-law, Thomas Cadieux. Remaining to mourn her death is her sister, Annette; brother Edphat (Simone), and sisters-in-law, Ida and Anne. Sister Noëlia was born December 26, 1917, at St. Agathe to Edphat Dorge and Egidia Campeau. As a young child she experienced the death of her father, thus making her more responsible with the household chores. She attended school in St. Agathe, St. Adolphe and St. Norbert. In 1937, she left for France to begin her formation in the Congregation of Les Filles de la Croix. After pronouncing her vows in 1939, she began her teaching career of 20 years in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Noëlia was an excellent teacher but her desire to be a missionary grew stronger as the years went by. In 1962, her dream came true; she would work with the Brazilian people for 34 years, teaching children and adults, giving private lessons and helping in schools and within the parishes where she lived. Sister was a quiet, discreet, lovable person. Her welcoming smile and cheerful laugh warmed many hearts. She loved life and used her initiative to do many different things. She played the organ, loved to read, compose, write and send messages on the internet to family and friends. What transpired clearly through Sister Noëlia's life was her devotion and faithfulness to prayer, moments greatly cherished with her God; and what remained most dear to her was her prayerful love for Brazil, which she spoke of at every occasion possible. The family and the Filles de la Croix wish to thank the staff of the Villa Aulneau and the St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care shown towards Sr. Noélia Dorge in the last year of her life. The funeral mass will be held in the Chapel of Villa Aulneau, 601 Aulneau St., on Tuesday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m. Viewing will take place prior to the service as of 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the St. Adolphe Cemetery. I have fond memories of sister during my formative years in willow-bunch Saskatchewan. Her gentle demeanor, and talent in teaching young children was admirable. - Posted by: Anne- Marie Desautels (student in elementery school.) on: Apr 08, 2014
