NORMAN A. SMITH June 11, 1950 - November 19, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Norman Alexander Smith at his home in High River on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the age of 61 years. Norm was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 11, 1950 on his parent's first anniversary and lived there until he moved to Edmonton to complete his education at the University of Alberta in 1972. Over the years, Norm worked for Fortier and Associates, Esso Canada, Trans Canada Pipelines and Suncor to name a few, making many friends along the way. Norm enjoyed model railroading, hockey, football, camping and fishing and the many friends he met, but the light of Norm's life was his daughter Casey Marie. He was predeceased by his Aunts Isobel and Kathleen, Uncle Fraser, Grandma Gracie, mother and father Virginia and Donald. He will be greatly missed by daughter Casey, cousins Frank (Marla) Stewart, Howard (Louise) Smith, Mary (Dave) Smith, Barb, Leslie, Dave and Mark Smith, Lorraine, his special friend Valerie; the mother of his daughter Peggy, and her daughter Tracey (Marc), grandson Alex; son Keith (Renee); grandsons Jayden and Jayme, and son Rick (Jenn), grandson Jacob and granddaughters Sarah and Hannah. Also, great friends Marie and Gary, Roy and Linda, Frank and Heidi, Bill and Louella and the Railroading Gang, as well as many other friends and relatives. In recent years, Norm was involved in supporting the MS Campaign and the Saturday afternoon meat draws at the Legion, where he again made more friends.
