Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE EDWARD BRIAN June 18, 1931 - November 15, 2011 George leaves to mourn his loving wife Glenda (nee Massey); his son David (Chery) of Calgary; and daughters, Diane (Bill) of Winnipeg and Ellen of Whitehorse; along with grandchildren, Allen, Raelyn, Wren and Brian. After humble beginnings in Winnipeg and Pine Falls, Manitoba, George travelled the globe due to the Canadian Armed Forces. He began by serving in the Army in the Korean War which also took him to Japan. Upon returning to Canada, he re-enlisted in the Air Force which took him to Clinton, Whitehorse, Alert, Germany (4 Wing/Baden), Winnipeg, Ottawa, Egypt, Israel and Iran. He was awarded the Member of the Order of Military Merit for his role in the Canadian Caper . Upon retirement from the Air Force, he worked with Transport Canada in Ottawa. Due to declining health, George spent the past three years at the Perley-Rideau Veterans' Health Centre. At George's request, he has been cremated and there will be no service.
