ERNIE BERARD (JOSEPH ERNEST BERARD) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ernie Berard on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents, Marie and Henri, six brothers and two sisters. He was born in Harptree, SK on August 30, 1937. He moved to Winnipeg in 1956 and worked at Winnipeg Hydro. He worked there until he retired after 38 years. Ernie enjoyed curling, whether it was watching or playing. He curled for many years with the Granite Curling Club. After he retired he enjoyed his summers out at his cottage where he met many neighbours who became great friends. He will be greatly missed by his sisters Alice Zaplachinski and Dorothy Eggett of Winnipeg and Mary (Gordon) Spooner of Pangman, SK; his brothers Lionel (Susan) and Adelore (Georgette) of Regina, SK and his many nieces and nephews who were so dear to him. A celebration of Ernie's life will be at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. If friends wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.   • Although I am sending this condolence very late, I wish to extend my sympathy to Ernie's family. He was a great boss to work under.
