ELLMA FRANCES MCMILLAN (nee PENWARDEN) (DEWAR) We are extremely sad to announce the passing of Ellma on December 1, 2011. Mom enjoyed life to the very last. She was loved by her family and so many friends. She was a wonderful, bubbly person, caring for any who came her way. She will be missed by her family - her brother Lloyd; son Rick (Pat); grandson Andrew (Brenda); great-grandchildren Ava and Ethan; granddaughter Kim as well as her friends at Kiwanis on the Red, her P.E.O group and the United Church. She will also be missed by Crawford's family Dale (Linda) and their daughter Kier (John), great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Miranda; Allan (Linda) and Bonnie McMillan and her children Paul (Megan) and Craig (Ericka) and great-grandchild Rachel. She was predeceased by her husbands Frank Dewar (1985) and Crawford McMillan (2011), as well as her brother Garnet, and sister Hazel Pike. Ellma was born on March 13, 1917 in St. Vital. She moved with her family to Selkirk at an early age, where the family ran a dairy farm. She married Frank Dewar in 1940 and after his death she married Crawford in 1987. She worked at both Gibbs Drug Store and Gilhuly's Drug Store. In her retirement years she travelled to many places, spending her winters in Mesa and White Rock. She loved to visit with friends and never turned down a game of cribbage or whist. Ellma's life was one of generosity and encouragement. She strived to find the best in people. She was energetic and enthusiastic, living life to its fullest, while being a great role model to her friends and family. She will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in the Christ Church, with Rev. Deborah Vitt officiating.
