SVAVA EINARSSON DELL Svava Einarsson Dell died peacefully and gently as she lived, at the age of 94. Born to Gudbjorg and Sigursteinn Einarsson in Arborg, MB, Svava was raised by her Mom, after her young father's untimely death. After high school in Arborg, Svava attended Winnipeg Normal School in 1937, to become a teacher, with further summer school sessions at the University of Manitoba. She then met Stanley Dell and they were married in Winnipeg in 1942. The couple moved to the Red Lake District of Ontario, a thriving gold mining community to this day, where they were amongst the first pioneers in the area. Svava taught in the district schools over the years, raising their three children, Brian, Fern and Wendy, and from 1956 - 2000 (44 years), she was there to support her husband and the family businesses, Dell Construction and Balmertown Builders Supplies. Svava was and avid curler and enjoyed playing into her 80th year. She and Stan were great supporters of the Kinsmen Club of Balmertown, enjoying these friendships, conventions and charity works as lifetime members. Svava was also a member of the United Church Women and held several offices over the years. Never a year went by without the companionship of many a dog who became nature-study and trekking companions, along with an assortment of cats, all part of the family. She remained in her home in Balmertown until her 93rd year, with her son Brian. In late 2010 she moved to Goderich to be cared for at the Maitland Manor and to be with youngest daughter Wendy. She will be sorely missed for her exceptional sweet, caring nature. An incredible Mother, a wonderful grandma to her six grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Predeceased by her husband Stan in 1997 and brother Einar Einarsson (1987) (Beatrice). Survived by her three children Brian Dell of Balmertown, ON., Fern Dell Gosselin (Michael) of Kamloops, BC., and Wendy Dell Grace (John) of Goderich, ON; her grandchildren Robert Gosselin (Adrienne) and great granddaughters, Elodie and Delphine; Brendan Dell, Alexander Dell, Jonathon Grace, Jordan Grace and Joel Grace. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A friend forever. To live in the hearts of those left behind, is not to die (Kahil Gibran).
