EVELYN CANCILLA It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Evelyn Cancilla (nee Kelekis) on Monday, November 28, 2011 at the age of 78 years. Peacefully with the love of her family by her side, Evelyn passed on from this world to be rejoined with her beloved husband Gordon after a lengthy illness. Words cannot begin to describe just how much we have been through together and how terribly much your family will miss you. We are so extremely grateful for every single moment that we shared with you. Evelyn leaves to mourn her son Gregory and wife Pam-Ella and their children, Richard, Kevin and Kathryn; her daughter Serena and husband Stephan and their children, Nicholas, Kaden and Cyera; her sister Marina Holman and her family; and her aunt Martha Klein and husband Stanley of California. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Gordon Cancilla; her father Efthymios Kelekis; and her mother Dorothea Kelekis (nee Beskid). Evelyn was an outgoing person who loved her family dearly. She cherished her time being a stay at home Mom lovingly raising her family. Later in life, Mom's greatest joys became spending time with all of her grandchildren and having her family gathered all together to enjoy her wonderful holiday meals. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all the doctors, surgeons and nurses at the Grace General Hospital ICU for their compassionate care. We know that they did their utmost in providing a dignified and comfortable end for her. The family also wishes to thank the City of Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service for their quick response and the level of care they provided.
