DAVID CHARLES LAWES September 4, 1944 - November 26, 2011 Peacefully and surrounded by love, Dave passed gently into the arms of God. Dave began working at Winnipeg Transit at the age of 19. He was an apprentice mechanic. He worked his way through the ranks and eventually became the Supervisor of Equipment Maintenance. He retired in 1995 after 31 years service. Dave loved to travel. He loved all sports, especially golf and he enjoyed the company of family and friends. Dave was predeceased by his father John and his brother Peter. He will be forever loved, missed and cherished in the hearts of those he left behind. Dave is survived by his mother Kathleen; wife Susan; sons Cory (Theresa) and Scott (Crystal); grandchildren Christian, Zachary and Callie; brothers-in-law Richard (Mary) Howells, Tim (Angela) Howells, and his nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held for Dave at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Those wishing, may make a donation in Dave's memory to a charity of their choice.
