MARGARET CORMIE October 2, 1932 - December 4, 2011 Peacefully on December 4, 2011, at Grace General Hospital, at the age of 79. She is survived by her three children, Lee Cormie (Wendy), David Cormie (Vivian), Carol-Ann Magee (Jerry), daughter-in-law Joan, her seven grandchildren, Andrea, Cassidy, John, Julie Ann, Mathew, Michael, and Shawna and her brothers, Peter and David. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon, and her daughter Susann. Margaret was born in Winkler, the daughter of Anna and John Buhr. She attended Daniel McIntyre School. She had been married to Gordon for almost 60 years. Margaret spent most of life caring for her family, especially Gordon whom she loved so dearly. After her children had grown, she loved to travel to Europe with Gordon where they spent much time researching their family histories together and enjoyed many wonderful summers at their cottage at Ironwood Point on Lake Winnipeg. She loved her dogs, the Heidi(s), Casper and especially Cupid who was her constant companion this past year. The family especially wishes to thank her neighbours who have always been so caring for her and all the wonderful staff of the City of Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services, doctors and nurses at the Grace Hospital who have attended to her health needs on so many occasions over the past 30 years. Margaret will be greatly missed. A memorial gathering will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 11, at the family home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Grace Hospital Foundation.
