LINDA NELSON (nee BENNINGEN) Peacefully and surrounded by family, Linda passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre at the age of 68 after a very strong and courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of David, her husband of 41 years; mother of her loving children: daughter Barbara and son Sean (Violette), and their children, Josephine and Loucas. She will be greatly missed by her Aunt Renee Benningen; her brother Grant (Audrey); sister Alison Burnett (Peter); brother John; brother-in-law Warren Nelson (Donna); sister-in-law Jane Meili; sister-in-law Renee White (Barclay); brother-in-law Jim Nelson (Denise); cousin Gwenda Ertzinger (Hans). She will also be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and their extended families. She will be greatly missed by close friends, Karen and Gerald Anderson, Caroline Matchett, Marjorie and David Green. Linda was a dedicated member of three bridge groups and will be greatly missed by all members of these groups. The family would like to express our deepest thanks and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for the outstanding care and support they provided to Linda. There will be a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 and a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 at McDougall and Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Road, Toronto, ON M1M 1N5 (416)-267-4656. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Linda's memory to the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Foundation, Odette Cancer Centre.
