KAY (CATHERINE) PORTREE (nee NETSKAR) May 16, 1918 - December 12, 2011 Mom passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2011, into the presence of her Lord and Saviour. Our mom was predeceased by her infant son, William; her parents, John and Annie Netskar; her siblings, Mike, Joe, Mary and Frances. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Jim (Carol), Kathy (Bob) and Brenda (Greg); her six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her brother, Stan, and many nieces and nephews. Together Mom and Dad loved opening their home to family and friends. She was a loving mother who brought us together and taught us the values of life, loving and sharing with others. Mom always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes, kindness and generosity in her gestures. She was a devout Catholic and a woman of strong faith. For the last 12 years, Mom had been lovingly cared for by the staff of Red River Place for which the family was so grateful. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday December 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 269 Jemima, Selkirk, with a luncheon to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, a donation may be made to either one of Mom's favourite charities: The Salvation Army, PO Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R2 or Development and Peace www.devp.org Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
