DANIEL DRAWARD With much sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel Draward at East Gate Lodge P.C.H. in Beausejour on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the age of 89. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of almost 63 years, Elsie; his children, Gail Peluk (Ted), Carol Schultz and Randy Draward (Autumn); his daughter-in-law Debbie Draward; his grandchildren, Doug Peluk (Joanna), Lee-Anne Peluk (Kevin), Greg (friend Sarah) and Neal Schultz, and Devin (friend Dana) and Drew Draward; and his great-grandchildren, Thomas and Avery Peluk. He was predeceased by his son Dennis Draward and his son-in-law Richard Schultz, and was the last of his six siblings to pass away. Dan was born and raised on the family homestead in Lydiatt, Manitoba, where he remained to farm and raise his own family. He and Elsie worked together, meeting the challenges of farm life until they moved to Beausejour in 2006. Dan was hard working and over the years he worked at various jobs as well as farming. For 32 years, Dan worked for Building Products as a plant operator and retired in 1987. Dan was always available to help anyone with a building projectbe it a barn, or something smaller like a birdhouse. Many of the long standing structures around the area were, in part, the handiwork of Dan. His family could always count on him to lend a hand with any construction project they had on the go. He loved the outdoors and instilled his passion for hunting in his sons. He was a kind man who enjoyed the simple things in lifea refreshing walk outdoors, a warm home, good food on the table, and family and friends to share it with. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1st Street, Beausejour, with Pastor Bart Coleman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Dan to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
