MONTERREY (MONTE) WALTER MENARD It is with extreme grief and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend Monterrey Walter Menard on December 10, 2011 through a tragic fishing accident on Lake Winnipegosis. Monte was born on March 1, 1963 in Swan River, MB. He is survived by his partner Sandra Flatfoot, his children Kyle (Verna) grandson LeDane, Colten, Monte Jr. and Chelsea, his parents Walter and Grace Menard, and sisters Shelley Fulford (Carl), Julie Fleming (Jim), Pamela Simpson (Richard), Cathy Menard (Pierre) and brother Dale Menard (Marilyn) and many numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is remembered as a kind hearted man who was always willing to help whenever he could in whatever they were doing. Monte was an experienced fisherman who fished many lakes in Manitoba including Sissipuk Lake, Gutrey Lake, Lake St. Martin, Lake Waterhen, Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipegosis. He was a survivor of many close encounters on the lakes through the changing weather conditions year round. He was an outdoors man who loved fishing and ranching. He lived throughout Manitoba and always came back to the Winnipegosis area, the place he called home. Memorial Service to be held at the Dauphin Friendship Centre at 10:00 a.m. on December 17, 2011. You will always be in our hearts we treasure the memories you left with us.
