Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCECILIA BUISSON Peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the Portage District General Hospital, Cecilia Buisson of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late Lucien Buisson passed away at the age of 102 years. Funeral mass will be held at the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Eric Giddins officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery. Cecilia was born on August 3, 1909, daughter of Pierre and Delia Coté in Winnipeg. She was raised and received her education in Starbuck, Manitoba. In 1931, she married Lucien Buisson and they farmed in the Haywood District where they raised their family of two daughters and a son. In 1974, they retired and moved to Portage la Prairie. Cecilia was a member of the St Dennis Roman Catholic Church in Haywood and presently a member of the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in Portage. Her interests included knitting, crocheting, doing puzzles and playing cards. In her earlier years she loved to garden, growing flowers and preserving her produce from the garden. She enjoyed cooking for her family and many friends that would stop by for a visit. Predeceased by her husband, Lucien, in 1986; her daughter Yvette in 2009; five brothers; Paul, George, Wilfred, Gerard, Napoleon; one sister Elise Boulet. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Cecile (Dave) Lemoine of St. Norbert; her son Lucien (Denise) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Donald (Carole), René (Rachelle), Marcel (Rachelle), Robert (Dayna), Marc (Jenn), Alice (Steve), her great-grandchildren Kevin, Ryan, Caitlin, Colin, Alec, Leanne, Richard, Rossel, Roxanne, Isabelle, and Mia. Also surviving is her brother Arthur (Violet) of Rural Portage and many nieces and nephews.
