Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA ALAGAO LOPEZ December 15, 1923 - December 12, 2011 Maria Lopez of Calgary passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Maria was born in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and immigrated to Winnipeg in August 1977 and moved to Calgary in September 2010. Widowed young, she dedicated her life to raising her family and finding joy in her passion for sewing. Maria enjoyed good food, good music and being with family. She was loved by so many people and peacefully left our world after living a fulfilling life. Maria is survived by her five children, Ben Lopez (Pilar), Naty Altares (Jaime), Elizabeth Pagarigan (Jun), Marilou Capiendo (Ariel) and Tess Hunter (Wes); 17 grandchildren, Jeryl Altares (Melva), Darryl Lopez, Francisco Altares Jr. (Sue-Ann), Jeannie Pagarigan (Chad), Helen Lopez (Benjie), Jessie Lopez, Jeremy Pagarigan, BJ Lopez, Melissa Lopez, Justin Pagarigan (Erecka), Jose Lopez, Earvin Lopez, Chris Lopez, Kayla Capiendo, Kristoff Hunter, Kelsey Capiendo and Kimmy Capiendo; eight great-grandchildren, Jeziah Altares, Mylena Altares, Julyan Altares, Sky Lopez, Sophie Creighton, Jaiel Pagarigan, Max Creighton and Franklin Altares; niece Christina Torralba (Ed) and their family, nephew Nolie Jucutan (Jonalyn) and their family as well as several cousins from Hawaii and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Benjamin Lopez; her son Leonilo Lopez (Purita); her sister Dolores Jucutan and three brothers, Felimino Alagao, Bonifacio Alagao and Federico Alagao. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS HOLLOWAY'S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Services to follow in the Good Shepherd Cemetery at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Being grateful is an understatement to how thankful we are that you lived such a long and fulfilled life. i'll always miss going grocery with you, and opening your door, and walking you to the car.
