AYLANA LEVINE December 12, 2011 Our precious baby girl was born on Monday, 340 grams and only 10 inches long. Sadly she passed away in our arms a short time later, surrounded by family. Mommy and Daddy (Michelle and Hart) feel so blessed to have had you in our lives, even as brief as our time was together. We cherish every memory and keepsake we have and will always keep you in our hearts. You will always be Daddy's little girl. We find comfort in knowing that Baba and Zaida (Ida and Albert) Koffman, Grandma and Grandpa (Don and Marie) Feener, and Grandpa (Howard) Levine are now taking care of you up in heaven. You will always be remembered by your four big brothers, Christopher (Gagnon), Joey, Joshua, and Ethan. Also missing you are Grandma and Grandpa (Ray and Donna) Gagnon, Great-Grandma and Grandpa (Abel and Anita) Gagnon, Baba and Zaida (Marc and Janice) Levine, Great-Grandma (Victoria) Levine, Aunty Robyn and Uncle Calvin Vinck, Aunty Karen and Uncle Mike Hill, Uncle Shawn and Aunty Kerri Levine, great-Aunty Sheryl Levine and Uncle Steve Hayman, cousins Brayden and Owen Vinck, cousin Tia Levine, as well as many other cousins, great-aunties and uncles in the Gagnon and Feener families. We wish to thank Dr. Helga Sickert and Brenda, Dr. Mark Bernier, and H.S.C. fetal assessment unit staff (Sherri and Carol) for their wonderful care. We also wish to thank all of the staff at H.S.C. Women's Hospital for their support and compassion. We especially thank our families and friends who have been so supportive and helpful through this difficult time. We thought of you and closed our eyes, And prayed to God today. We asked what makes a parent, And we know we heard him say: A parent has a baby, This we know is true. But, God, can you be a parent, When your baby's not with you? Yes, you can he replied, With confidence in his voice. I give many women babies, When they leave is not their choice. Some I send for a lifetime, And others for a day. And some I send to feel her womb, But there's no need to stay. We just don't understand this God, We want our baby here. He took a breath and cleared his throat, And then we saw a tear. I wish that I could show you, What your child is doing today, If you could see your child smile, With other children who say: We go to earth and learn our lessons, Of love and life and fear. My parents loved me oh so much, I got to come straight here. I feel so lucky to have a Mom and Dad, Who had so much love for me. I learned my lessons very quickly, My parents set me free. I miss my parents oh so much, But I visit them each day. When they go to sleep, On their pillows is where I lay. I stroke their hair and kiss their cheeks, And whisper in their ears. Mommy and Daddy don't be sad today, I'm your baby and I'm here. So you see my dear sweet ones, Your children are OK. Your babies are here in my home, They'll be at heaven's gate for you. So now you see what makes a parent. It's the feeling in your heart. It's the love you had so much of, Right from the very start. Though some on earth may not realize You are a parent, until their time is done. They'll be up here with Me one day, And you'll know that you're the best ones! ~Author Unknown In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Aylana's memory to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, CE501-840 Sherbrook St. Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, R3A 1S1 www.goodbear.mb.ca.
