He is survived by his son Al (Pat); and daughter Beth Pollard (John); and his grandsons, Aidan and Aldan Wherrett and Ryan, Eric and Evan Pollard. Dad's grandchildren were his pride and joy. In 1954 he became principal of the elementary school in the town of Killarney, where he met his future wife Eileen Bartley. They were married in 1955 and shared 41 happy years together before her untimely passing. In 1956, Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg and Dad began his career with the Assiniboine South School Division. From 1956 to 1987 he was principal of Royal, Dieppe and Westgrove schools. He retired from teaching in 1987 from Westgrove. Please make cheques payable to Pembina Trails Educational Support Fund and specify in the memo line Westgrove Healthful Happenings. Donations can be mailed to the school at 50 Westgrove Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3R 1R7. MISS ME BUT LET ME GO When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me. I want no rites in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little but not too long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love we once shared. Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone. It's all part of the Master's plan. A step on the road to home. So when you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know. Bury your sorrow in doing good deeds. Miss me, but let me go. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0X4 783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com
