ANITA WOZNY After a long and beautiful life, the family of Anita Wozny (nee Yakowyshyn) announces with great sorrow, but with joy and thanksgiving for her life, that our Mama and Granny peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital. Anita was born on July 7, 1919 in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Stephen; mother and father, Mary and Peter; brother, Stanley, and sister and brother-in-law, Adeline and Bill Brown. Mama is survived by her two daughters, Barbara-Ann and Fred Larkins and their family: Jennifer-Ann (Eduardo) Sierra and her little darlings Matteo and Nicholas; Philip Larkins (Mandy) and her darlings Ethan and Oscar; Alexandra (Joel) Bourgeois, and Andrew Larkins; daughter Valentine and John Doll and their family: Ian Doll (Maria) and children Brendan, Sophia and Alexander; Anne Marie Wise (John) and children Matthew, Thomas, Paul and Mark; Tim Doll; Neil Doll; Cyril Doll (Sarah) and children Gianna and Peter. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Anita was employed for 37 happy years at The Bay. Mama was a long time member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and a life member of the UCWLC with a faithful commitment to the Apostleship of Prayer. She had a deep love for Our Blessed Lady. Mama leaves a deep void in her family but we are all filled with sweet memories of this wonderful lady. Rest in our Lord, Dearest Mama, your suffering on earth has come to an end. The family would like to acknowledge the kindness and caring staff on the 4th floor of Riverside Lions Seniors Residences and the nurses and staff on the 5th floor of Victoria General Hospital. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21 at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22 also at the Church with Fr. D. Kawiuk officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church Elevator Fund or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193

  • What a privilege to have known Anita, a wonderful person and special friend to my family. She now rejoices in the eternal joy of her Lord and His Blessed Mother to whom she was so devoted. I will be celebrating a Holy Liturgy for her repose and for the intentions of her family. Вічная пам'ять! - Posted by: Father Athanasius McVay (Friend and former Pastor) on: Dec 21, 2011
